Kauai Information

Kauai Beaches

The Poipu area offers many great snorkeling spots and safe sandy swimming beaches. There are even several lovely, white sand beaches within a short walking distance from Turtle Cove Suites. (You will find a supply of pool (beach) towels in your suite upon arrival.) A short walk along the edge of Waikomo Stream will bring you to Whaler's Cove, which is also a great place for a swim or a snorkeling tour.

Beach Safety

Deciding which beach to visit might be your most challenging daily task. It is important to be aware of the daily changing ocean conditions when choosing which Kauai beach to spend your day at. When snorkeling, scuba diving, sailing, windsurfing, boogie boarding or just playing at the beach, there’s a few things you should know... Generally speaking, in the summer, the surf is larger on the South Shore and conditions are calmer on northern facing shores. Conditions are usually the opposite in the winter. Try to always swim where a lifeguard is present and consult them if you have questions.
